What to Bring

We are busy here at Camp Sarsaparilla.  Make sure you can join in on all of the fun by bringing the right stuff.

  • A lunch
  • Snack
  • Water bottle
  • Bathing suit
  • Towel
  • Life jacket, if not a swimmer
  • Backpack
  • Change of clothes
  • Raincoat
  • Leave at home all electronic games, iPods, and toys.
  • Wear sturdy shoes.  Bring water shoes.

About lunches and lunch packing materials:

We are making a concerted effort this year to ask parents and children to make
a mighty effort to pack lunches in the most environmentally responsibile
packing materials.  Please invest in a reusable lunch box.  Please use the small
reusable lunch wrappings for all food items.  PlanetWise makes some good
zipper pouches. They are available on Amazon, as are other pouches of this type.
If you send yogurt or apple sauce, please provide a zipper pouch for sending home
any  spillable that is open, so that the lunch box doesn’t become messy.  We are going
to follow the National Park motto: If you pack it in, you must pack it out.
This also allow you, as parents, to know what your children had not finished.

Please use a reusable water bottle with the child’s name marked in Sharpie.
